Key Qualifications:

  • Current, active RN license required
  • Prior experience working in a stepdown or progressive care unit is essential
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records systems
  • ACLS and BLS certifications
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational abilities
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in fast-paced, high-stress situations

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver focused, evidence-based care to patients transitioning from intensive care to general units
  • Monitor and document changes in patient status, promptly notifying physicians and interdisciplinary team members as needed
  • Administer medications, manage IVs, and execute physician-ordered treatments
  • Collaborate closely with respiratory therapists, physicians, and ancillary staff for comprehensive patient care
  • Educate patients and families about the care plan, medications, and relevant post-discharge instructions
  • Ensure strict adherence to policies, safety standards, and patient privacy regulations
