Stepdown Nurse (RN) in Trussville, AL

Qualifications and Experience:

• Completion of an accredited nursing program with an active RN license
• Proven recent experience in a stepdown or progressive care unit (PCU)
• Proficiency in administering cardiac drips, monitoring telemetry, and responding to changes in patient conditions
• Strong clinical assessment and communication abilities
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• High level of adaptability and teamwork in a collaborative setting
• Ability to document care accurately and efficiently in electronic health records

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to stepdown unit patients
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and ongoing monitoring
• Collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to create and update care plans
• Administer medications, manage IVs, and monitor for adverse reactions
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, and recovery plans
• Ensure infection control standards are maintained at all times
• Respond effectively to emergencies and escalate care when necessary
• Maintain detailed and accurate patient records in alignment with facility policies
