Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) - Trussville, AL

Schedule/Hours:

• 7:00 am – 7:00 pm

Qualifications:

• Active, unencumbered RN license
• Previous experience in cardiovascular stepdown or similar ICU/stepdown settings preferred
• Prior cardiac care experience highly desirable
• Certification in ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required
• Certification in BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Effective communicator with excellent teamwork abilities

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients recovering from cardiac events or surgical procedures in a stepdown unit
• Monitor, interpret, and document vital signs and cardiac rhythms, responding promptly to any changes
• Administer prescribed medications, treatments, and interventions according to established protocols
• Work collaboratively with physicians, therapists, and ancillary staff to execute care plans and ensure patient safety
• Educate patients and families about cardiac conditions, post-care instructions, and health maintenance
• Adhere to infection control policies, quality assurance standards, and patient confidentiality guidelines
