This contract opportunity allows you to utilize your expertise as a skilled Registered Nurse specializing in stepdown care, working alongside a dedicated interdisciplinary team.
Qualifications:
- Valid and current RN license
- Minimum of 1 year recent experience in a Stepdown or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting
- Demonstrated proficiency with cardiac monitoring, titration of drips, and managing patients requiring closer observation than general med-surg
- Strong assessment and critical-thinking skills
- BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and care for patients transitioning from intensive care to general nursing units, ensuring seamless continuity of care
- Perform frequent patient assessments, recognizing subtle changes in condition and responding appropriately
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to develop and update individualized care plans
- Administer medications, manage IV drips, and provide bedside treatments
- Educate patients and families regarding post-ICU recovery, ongoing treatment, and discharge processes
- Accurately document patient data and interventions in the electronic health record
- Uphold infection control standards and contribute to a safe, healing environment
