Schedule & Hours
- 12-hour night shifts
- Every other weekend (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH)
Qualifications & Experience
- Current RN license in Ohio or compact state (required)
- Minimum 1 year RN experience, 2 years preferred
- BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke certification required (preferred upon hire; must obtain if not)
- Dysrhythmia exam required (study guide provided)
- Travel and float pool experience preferred
- Vent experience beneficial but not required
- Experience in acute care and working with adults and geriatrics preferred
- Strong communication, adaptability, and assessment skills
Responsibilities
- Float between PCU and MS/Tele units staffing based on hospital needs
- Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments
- Create, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans
- Safely administer medications following policies and procedures
- Manage complex patient situations including multi-system organ failure
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, serving as a patient advocate
- Apply advanced nursing skills such as hemodynamic monitoring, pacing, and conscious sedation
- Maintain professional accountability, cultural competence, and capacity for quick decision-making under pressure
