Key Qualifications:

  • Active and unencumbered RN license
  • At least one year of recent experience in a stepdown/telemetry or progressive care unit (PCU)
  • Proficiency in managing complex patient conditions requiring close monitoring
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation standards

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor stepdown patients, recognizing and responding promptly to changes in condition
  • Administer medications and interventions safely and accurately per physician orders
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and update individualized care plans
  • Provide ongoing education and emotional support to patients and families
  • Maintain meticulous patient documentation in accordance with facility policies
  • Participate in daily rounds, ensure effective shift hand-offs, and uphold infection control protocols
