This exclusive opportunity provides a chance to work in a leading Progressive Care/Stepdown (PCU) unit known for its diversity—serving respiratory, renal, surgical, and trauma patients, and offering complex care with ventilators and ICU-level challenges. Your contribution will directly impact patient outcomes and bolster your clinical skills through the management of challenging cases and collaboration with seasoned health professionals.
Schedule:
- 12-hour night shifts
- Option for expanded hours with overtime after 48 hours
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, plan and deliver nursing interventions, and evaluate responses.
- Manage complex drips (Cardizem, Amiodarone) and advanced airway modalities (vents, trachs, BiPAP, CPAP).
- Administer medications and manage insulin drips safely.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary care efforts and serve as a patient advocate.
- Educate and support patients and their families through acute illness and recovery.
- Float to adjacent care units as needed to maintain high care standards across the facility.
Qualifications:
- Current RN license (state active or multi-state compact).
- BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required.
- Minimum one year of RN experience with demonstrated higher acuity care; stepdown/ICU/ventilator competency required.
- Prior experience with EPIC EHR and dysrhythmia interpretation preferred.
- Strong communication and clinical judgment, with resilience in high-stress settings.
