Schedule:
- 12-week assignment
- Day and night shifts available, typical nurse:patient ratios of 1:4-5 (days) and 1:5 (nights) (subject to staffing)
Qualifications:
- Active RN license, with compact license eligibility if applicable
- Minimum 2 years of recent Stepdown/IMCU experience
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Experience managing vents on an IMC level
- BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Certification required
- Dysrhythmia exam completion (study guide provided)
- Proficient with non-titratable and select titratable drips (e.g., Cardizem, Amiodarone, nitro, Heparin)
- Ability to manage BiPAP, CPAP, High Flow, HHFNC, and occasional vents
- Comfort caring for cardiac, neuro, renal, and complex med-surg or respiratory patients
Responsibilities:
- Deliver safe, evidence-based care using the nursing process
- Administer and monitor IV medications and drips as per unit protocol
- Guide patient and family teaching and care coordination across departments
- Collaborate with CNAs, providers, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes
- Synthesize patient assessment data and revise care plans for improved recovery
- Foster patient advocacy, safety, and support in a fast-paced environment
