Contributing your expertise as a Telemetry RN on a 32-bed General Surgical Unit, you’ll play a pivotal role in providing exceptional postoperative care. The position offers exposure to a wide variety of surgical patients, ongoing collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and the chance to flexibly float to other units—ensuring continual professional development and the chance to broaden your clinical expertise. With flexible options for 36 or 48 hours per week, this assignment allows for work-life balance and the freedom to explore everything Cottondale and the nearby areas have to offer during your downtime.
Schedule/Hours

- Holidays as required
- Every other weekend
Qualifications / Experience
- Associate’s degree in Nursing required
- Active AHA BLS or Red Cross certification
- Valid Registered Nurse license for Alabama or a current compact license (no temporary licenses accepted)
- Minimum of 18 months experience under highest licensure, with at least one year of recent specialty experience; 2 years’ overall experience preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality care for general surgical patients, focusing on pain management, mobility, and bedside procedures
- Maintain a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio on unit
- Collaborate with physicians, hospitalists, and surgeons to foster an optimal healing environment
- Provide patient-centered care tailored to individual recovery needs
- Willingness to float to other hospital units as needed
