An opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse specializing in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or Medical-Surgical Intensive (MSI) care with Telemetry expertise at a prominent community hospital in Lees Summit, MO. This contract assignment offers a 13-week schedule working night shifts, focused on delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide skilled nursing care to post-catheterization patients and those requiring telemetry monitoring.
- Maintain a patient-to-nurse ratio of approximately 5:1, ensuring attentive and personalized care.
- Collaborate across departments and units as needed, with the flexibility to float within the facility to meet evolving patient care demands.
- Support weekend and holiday shifts (including charge nurse duties when assigned) to maintain continuous care coverage.
- Accurately use EPIC charting system to document patient care and clinical observations.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current RN license with at least 1 year of experience in Medical-Surgical or PCU settings.
- Proficient in telemetry monitoring and on-unit use.
- BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required.
- Comfortable with night shift work, including three 12-hour shifts per week from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM.
- Ability to work at least 8 weekend shifts within a 6-week rotation.
- Willingness to float across departments as necessary.
- Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility (locals not eligible).
