Telemetry RN in Newton, NC

A professional opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with telemetry experience to support cardiac care patients in a dynamic medical center. This contract position offers the chance to work in a well-equipped, patient-focused environment providing specialized cardiac services.

Location: Situated in Newton, NC, the medical center is a comprehensive facility featuring a brain center, cancer center, heart and lung centers, orthopedics, surgical specialties, women’s health, and a Level 3 NICU. The hospital includes a 32-bed emergency department, inpatient rehab, a surgical suite, and imaging services. Its South Campus provides behavioral health services.

Position Details:

• Department: Telemetry Unit (24 beds)
• Role: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Specialty: Cardiac Telemetry
• Number of Openings: 2
• Shifts: Primarily day and afternoon shifts
• Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed
• Weekend Commitment: Every other weekend
• Call: Not required
• Float: Possible float to IMCU, NPCU, and Surgical units
• Patient Ratio: 4:1
• Equipment: Life Paks, Zoll monitors, Masimo devices
• Electronic Health Record: Cerner (preferred experience)
• Patient Population: Cardiac patients ranging from young adults to elderly, with diagnoses including chest pain, atrial fibrillation, CHF, and peri-procedural care for cardiac catheterizations and VATS
• Dress Code: Flexible scrub colors; no unacceptable attire specified

Qualifications & Experience:

• Current RN license
• Minimum 2 years telemetry nursing experience
• Required certifications: BLS & ACLS
• Proficiency with Life Pak, Zoll, and Masimo equipment
• Associates degree in Nursing required
• Preferred: Familiarity with Cerner EHR

This contract role provides valuable experience in a family-oriented unit delivering critical cardiac care within a supportive team setting.
