In this dynamic role, you will provide specialized care on a 36-bed telemetry pulmonary unit, supporting patients with a broad spectrum of respiratory disorders. You’ll collaborate closely with respiratory therapists, physical therapists, care managers, and pharmacists, enriching your expertise through multidisciplinary teamwork. Nurses on this unit manage a 1:6 patient ratio, delivering high-quality, compassionate care to individuals and families navigating complex pulmonary and medical challenges. Schedule & Work Details:
- Choice of 36 or 48 hours per week
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday shifts as needed
- Must be open to floating to other units and nearby hospitals
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) required
- Active Registered Nurse license in Alabama or a Compact state (no temporary licenses)
- American Heart Association BLS or American Red Cross certification
- Minimum 18 months of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in telemetry or pulmonary specialty
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care for patients with respiratory diseases and injuries
- Monitor vital signs and telemetry
- Communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary care team
- Deliver patient and family education
- Ensure safe medication administration
