Registered Telemetry Unit Nurse | Wichita, Kansas

An opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with Telemetry experience specializing in cardiac patient care. This contract position is based in Wichita, KS, at a well-established medical center known for its advanced telemetry unit.

The Telemetry unit on the 3rd floor features 37 beds and a dedicated team of nursing professionals including day and night shifts with ratios approximately 1:6, adjusting to 1:4 for Heart Catheterization patients. The unit is equipped with state-of-the-art technology such as PCA pumps, IV pumps, chest tubes, and an EMR system utilizing Meditech to support efficient and high-quality patient care.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
• Previous telemetry nursing experience, including management of central lines and medication drips
• Familiarity with heart catheterization recovery and bubble studies preferred
• Strong critical thinking skills with a positive, engaged, and independent approach to patient care

Responsibilities:

• Monitor patients with cardiac conditions utilizing telemetry and other diagnostic tools
• Administer medications and manage drips per established protocols
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care
• Document accurately in the Meditech electronic medical record system
• Maintain patient safety and comfort by adhering to unit policies and guidelines
