Qualifications & Experience:

  • Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician required
  • Demonstrated proficiency with decontamination, sterilization, and preparation of surgical instruments and equipment
  • Thorough knowledge of infection control protocols and hospital safety standards
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Nursing knowledge is a plus, especially as it relates to sterile technique and patient safety
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Responsibilities:

  • Clean, decontaminate, assemble, sterilize, and distribute surgical instruments and medical equipment
  • Operate autoclaves and other sterilization equipment in accordance with manufacturer and facility guidelines

  • Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes and inventory levels of supplies
  • Adhere strictly to departmental and facility policies for infection control, safety, and regulatory compliance
