Qualifications and Experience:

  • Certified Sterile Processing Technician (CSPDT or CRCST) required
  • Proven experience in a Sterile Processing department within a healthcare setting
  • Expertise in sterilizing, assembling, and distributing surgical instruments and supplies
  • Strong knowledge of infection control procedures and standards
  • Ability to troubleshoot and operate sterilization equipment (e.g., autoclaves, washers)
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities

Responsibilities:

  • Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, wrap, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment adhering to established protocols
  • Operate sterilization equipment accurately, monitoring proper cycles and documenting results
  • Maintain inventory and ensure the availability of required surgical supplies and sterile trays
  • Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and compliance with infection prevention guidelines
  • Assist operating room staff with immediate sterilization needs and respond to equipment requests in a timely manner
  • Routinely inspect and maintain integrity of sterile packaging
  • Participate in ongoing quality assurance initiatives and continuous improvement efforts
