Key Requirements:
- Active certification as a Sterile Processing Technician (CRCST or equivalent)
- Experience in hospital or healthcare sterile processing environments
- Proficiency in decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment
- Strong understanding of infection control and safety protocols
- Ability to maintain detailed records and documentation
- Solid communication skills to work collaboratively with nursing and surgical staff
Schedule:
- Contract duration: 13 weeks
Primary Duties:
- Decontaminate, assemble, package, and sterilize surgical instruments and trays according to established standards
- Operate and troubleshoot sterilization equipment including autoclaves and washers
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the sterile work area
- Inspect instruments for cleanliness, function, and integrity before and after processing
- Prepare case carts and ensure timely availability of required supplies for surgical procedures
- Adhere to strict infection prevention and control policies
- Support quality assurance initiatives and respond promptly to urgent instrument requests from surgical teams
