Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician (CRCST or equivalent)
- Successful completion of an approved Sterile Processing Tech program
- Experience working in a hospital or clinical sterile processing environment
- Comprehensive understanding of sterilization standards and infection prevention protocols
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to patient safety
Key Responsibilities:
- Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, wrap, and sterilize surgical instruments and trays
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization activities, inventory, and equipment maintenance
- Collaborate with operating room and nursing teams to ensure timely supply of sterile instruments
- Adhere strictly to hospital and regulatory guidelines for infection control and patient safety
- Monitor biological and chemical indicators to ensure effectiveness of sterilization processes
- Troubleshoot and report equipment malfunctions or supply shortages as needed
