Sterile Processing Operating Room Technician in Webster, NY

Sterile Processing Technicians play a crucial role in supporting patient safety by ensuring medical instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, and ready for procedures. We are seeking an experienced professional with a background in sterile processing and current certification to work on a 13-week contract with a reputable healthcare provider.

Qualifications:

• Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician (CRCST or equivalent)
• Previous experience in a sterile processing department, preferably in an acute care or hospital setting
• Familiarity with infection control protocols, equipment sterilization, and surgical instrumentation
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities:

• Collect, decontaminate, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment
• Operate autoclaves and other sterilization equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and regulatory standards
• Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles, supply inventory, and instrument trays
• Collaborate with surgical and nursing staff to ensure timely processing and delivery of sterilized equipment
• Adhere to facility safety and infection prevention guidelines at all times
• Troubleshoot and report equipment malfunctions or inventory shortages
• Support the orientation of new staff and contribute to a safe, organized work environment
