Qualifications and Experience:
- Current certification as a Sterile Processing Technician (CRCST or equivalent)
- Previous experience working as a Sterile Processing Technician in a healthcare setting
- In-depth knowledge of sterilization techniques, infection control, and decontamination procedures
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain precise documentation
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to lift, push, or pull equipment and work on your feet for extended periods
Responsibilities:
- Properly clean, decontaminate, package, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment
- Operate and monitor sterilization equipment according to protocols and regulatory standards
- Perform quality assurance checks to ensure all instruments meet facility safety and cleanliness standards
- Assemble and organize instrument trays for surgical and procedural use
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles, equipment maintenance, and inventory
- Adhere to strict protocols for infection control and patient safety throughout all workflows
- Collaborate closely with surgical and nursing staff to support department needs
