Key Qualifications:

• Current certification as a Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) or eligibility to obtain
• Proven experience operating heart-lung machines and all perfusion technology
• Demonstrated expertise in adult and pediatric cardiopulmonary bypass procedures
• Comprehensive understanding of extracorporeal circulation, blood conservation, and transfusion techniques
• Excellent decision-making and communication skills in high-pressure surgical environments
• Ability to collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff

Primary Responsibilities:

• Manage and operate cardiopulmonary bypass, autotransfusion, and ventricular assist devices during cardiac and other surgical procedures
• Calculate and administer appropriate perfusion parameters, including blood flow, gas exchange, and temperature regulation
• Monitor patient vital signs and adapt techniques as necessary throughout procedures
• Adhere strictly to infection control protocols and all safety standards
• Maintain and test perfusion equipment to ensure optimal performance
• Accurately document all aspects of perfusion care per standard operating procedures
