Qualifications & Experience:

• Certification and active registration as a Perfusionist (ABCP or equivalent certification required)
• Previous experience operating heart-lung machines and related technology during cardiac surgeries
• In-depth understanding of extracorporeal circulation practices and standards
• Strong clinical assessment, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills in high-pressure situations
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to coordinate seamlessly with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff
• Commitment to maintaining current continuing education and adherence to best practices in perfusion

Schedule/Hours:

• Full-time hours available, with a flexible schedule dependent on surgical case load and clinical needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and manage heart-lung machines, ensuring optimal support for patients during cardiac and related surgical procedures
• Monitor patient vitals and respond to any changes to ensure patient stability throughout perfusion
• Participate in pre-operative planning and post-operative review with the surgical team
• Maintain accurate perfusion records for each case, ensuring compliance with clinical protocols and standards
• Regularly inspect and prepare perfusion equipment, ensuring all devices are safe, functional, and ready for use
• Support the education and training of clinical staff in extracorporeal technology as needed
