This permanent Clinical Pharmacist opportunity offers a dynamic role serving both the Emergency Department (ED) and Critical Care Unit (CCU), as well as contributing to the antibiotic stewardship team. Unlike larger hospitals where clinical pharmacists may be limited to one specialty floor, this position provides the chance to develop a broad range of clinical skills across multiple units.
Located in State College, PA, a vibrant community home to Penn State University and known for its scenic beauty, this role supports candidates willing to relocate, including those without a Pennsylvania license at the time of hire.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct medication order entry, verification, and appropriateness review of medication profiles.
- Provide clinical pharmacy services tailored to patient needs within the ED and ICU settings.
- Participate actively in multi-disciplinary teams and patient rounds.
- Perform drug therapy monitoring and pharmacist-managed consults following established protocols.
- Engage in acute patient care scenarios such as cardiac arrest, stroke, sepsis, and trauma interventions.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or PharmD required.
- Postgraduate Year 1 (PGY1) residency or a minimum of three years of current clinical pharmacy experience.
- Pennsylvania pharmacist license or eligibility to obtain licensure.
- Experience or training in critical care or emergency pharmacy is highly valued.
- Strong collaborative and communication skills for effective participation in clinical teams.
Work Schedule:
- Variable day and afternoon shifts, primarily 8-hour day shifts.
Technology:
- Experience with Meditech system is preferred.
Benefits:
- Competitive salary range between $108,000 and $169,000 per year, with a midpoint of $139,000.
