Clinical Pharmacist in Alexandria, LA

A clinical pharmacist opportunity is available at a well-established community hospital with over 200 beds. This contract position offers a dynamic environment where your expertise in pharmacy and medication management will directly impact patient care. The facility utilizes advanced IT systems including EPIC and Pyxis, supporting efficient workflows and accurate medication dispensing.

Location: Alexandria, LA
Job Type: Contract (13 weeks)
Start: ASAP
Schedule:

• 4 ten-hour shifts per week
• Rotating schedule including possible shifts from 6AM-4:30PM, 7AM-5:30PM, or 12:30PM-11PM
• Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders accurately and timely
• Supervise pharmacy technicians ensuring compliance with protocols
• Consult with physicians and nurses to optimize pharmacotherapy
• Apply pharmacokinetic principles in patient care evaluation
• Collaborate in multidisciplinary teams to improve medication management

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

• Licensed Pharmacist in good standing
• Experience in clinical pharmacy within a hospital setting preferred
• Proficient with EPIC and Pyxis systems
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
