Clinical Pharmacist | Alexandria, Louisiana

An opportunity is available for a Clinical Pharmacist to provide critical pharmaceutical services in a busy, 200+ bed community hospital setting. This contract role is designed for a skilled pharmacist ready to contribute expertise in medication management, patient care, and team collaboration within a demanding hospital environment.

Responsibilities include:

• Verifying physician orders accurately and efficiently.
• Supervising pharmacy technicians to ensure smooth workflow.
• Consulting with physicians and nursing staff to optimize patient medication therapy.
• Applying pharmacokinetics principles for individualized patient care.
• Utilizing healthcare IT systems such as EPIC and Pyxis for documentation and medication dispensing.

Schedule details:

• 4 shifts per week of 10 hours each.
• Rotating schedule with possible shifts from 6 AM to 4:30 PM, 7 AM to 5:30 PM, or 12:30 PM to 11 PM.
• Every other weekend coverage.

Qualifications and desired experience:

• Valid pharmacist license.
• Experience in a hospital or similar clinical pharmacy setting.
• Proficient with EPIC electronic medical records and Pyxis automated dispensing systems.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association.
• Strong communication skills for effective interdisciplinary collaboration.
