Location:
- Alexandria, LA
Schedule/Hours:
- Four 10-hour shifts per week
- Rotating schedule with varied shift times: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM, or 12:30 PM – 11:00 PM
- Every other weekend required
Responsibilities:
- Verify medication orders accurately and efficiently
- Supervise pharmacy technicians to ensure safe and effective workflow
- Consult with physicians and nursing staff to optimize patient care
- Apply pharmacokinetic principles to individualize dosing plans
- Utilize healthcare IT systems including EPIC and Pyxis to support daily operations
Desired Qualifications:
- Active pharmacist license in good standing
- BLS certification via AHA
- Previous hospital pharmacy experience preferred, with strong clinical and medication management skills
- Proficiency with electronic health records and automated dispensing systems
