Clinical Pharmacist - Alexandria, LA

A rewarding opportunity is available for a licensed clinical pharmacist to contribute expertise in a community hospital setting with over 200 beds. This 13-week contract position offers a dynamic work environment with varied schedules and an ASAP start date.

Location: Alexandria, LA
Type: Contract
Duration: 13 weeks
Schedule:

• Four 10-hour shifts per week
• Rotating schedule with potential shifts from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, or 12:30 PM to 11:00 PM
• Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders accurately and efficiently
• Supervise pharmacy technicians to ensure smooth pharmacy operations
• Collaborate closely with physicians and nursing staff to optimize patient care through expert consultation
• Apply knowledge of pharmacokinetics to tailor medication regimens as needed
• Utilize EPIC and Pyxis systems for electronic medical records and medication dispensing

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

• Valid pharmacist license in good standing
• Strong clinical pharmacy background with proven experience in hospital pharmacy operations
• Proficiency in EPIC electronic health record system and Pyxis medication management technology
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification via American Heart Association
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary healthcare team
