Clinical Pharmacist | Alexandria, Louisiana

An opportunity is available for a Clinical Pharmacist to support a community hospital with over 200 beds in Alexandria, LA. This contract role is set to begin as soon as possible and will last approximately 13 weeks. The position offers a dynamic schedule of four 10-hour shifts per week, with rotating hours that may include early mornings, standard daytime, or late evening shifts. Weekend coverage will also be part of the rotation.

Key responsibilities include order verification, supervising pharmacy technicians, collaborating with physicians and nurses to optimize medication therapy, and providing pharmacokinetic consultations. The hospital utilizes EPIC and Pyxis systems, so proficiency with these IT platforms is important.

Schedule/Hours:

• Four 10-hour shifts per week
• Rotating schedule includes 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM, or 12:30 PM – 11:00 PM
• Every other weekend rotation

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Current pharmacist licensure
• Experience in clinical pharmacy practice within a hospital environment
• Familiarity with EPIC and Pyxis systems
• Strong skills in order verification and supervising pharmacy technicians
• Ability to consult effectively with healthcare team members
• Understanding of pharmacokinetics principles
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
