Clinical Pharmacist | Alexandria, Louisiana

A clinical pharmacist opportunity is available at a community hospital with over 200 beds. This contract role offers an engaging environment where you will play a key role in medication management and patient care.

Location: Alexandria, Louisiana
Type: Contract (13 weeks)
Schedule:

• Four 10-hour shifts per week
• Rotating schedule with shifts possibly from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, or 12:30 PM to 11:00 PM
• Every other weekend coverage

Responsibilities include:

• Verifying medication orders accurately and efficiently
• Supervising pharmacy technicians to ensure smooth operations
• Consulting with physicians and nursing staff to optimize pharmacotherapy
• Participating in pharmacokinetic monitoring and dosage adjustments
• Using electronic systems such as EPIC and Pyxis to manage medication distribution and documentation

Desired Qualifications:

• Current and valid pharmacist license
• Proficient in clinical pharmacy practices within a hospital setting
• Experience with EPIC and Pyxis systems beneficial
• Strong communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration
• BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
• Ability to adapt to rotating shifts and flexible scheduling
