Clinical Pharmacist | Alexandria, Louisiana

A clinical pharmacist position is available at a 200+ bed community hospital in Alexandria, LA, offering an opportunity to provide essential pharmaceutical care in a dynamic hospital setting. This contract assignment runs for 13 weeks with an ASAP start date.

Schedule:

• Four 10-hour shifts per week
• Rotating schedule including potential shifts from 6 AM to 4:30 PM, 7 AM to 5:30 PM, or 12:30 PM to 11 PM
• Every other weekend rotation

Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders accurately and efficiently
• Supervise pharmacy technicians to ensure smooth pharmacy operations
• Provide expert consultation to physicians and nurses regarding medication therapies
• Conduct pharmacokinetic evaluations and make recommendations
• Use EPIC for electronic health records and Pyxis for automated medication dispensing systems

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Current pharmacist license in good standing
• Proficiency with EPIC and Pyxis systems preferred
• Strong clinical knowledge and experience in hospital pharmacy
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• BLS certification via American Heart Association required
