Clinical Staff Pharmacist - Alexandria, Louisiana

Provide expert pharmaceutical care in a dynamic 200+ bed community hospital setting, supporting a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes. This clinical pharmacist role involves vital responsibilities that ensure safe and effective medication use for diverse patient populations.

Location:

• Alexandria, LA

Schedule:

• 4 ten-hour shifts per week
• Rotating schedule with varying shifts (6:00 AM - 4:30 PM, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM, or 12:30 PM - 11:00 PM)
• Every other weekend required

Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders accurately and efficiently
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and manage workflow
• Consult with physicians and nursing staff regarding pharmacotherapy
• Perform pharmacokinetic monitoring and dose adjustments
• Utilize EPIC and Pyxis systems for effective medication management

Qualifications:

• Valid pharmacist license with experience in clinical hospital pharmacy
• Familiarity with inpatient pharmacy operations in a community hospital setting
• Proficient in EPIC electronic health records and Pyxis automated dispensing systems
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with healthcare teams
• Ability to work flexible shifts including evenings and weekends
