Clinical Pharmacist in Alexandria, LA

A clinical pharmacist opportunity is available at a 200+ bed community hospital in Alexandria, LA. This contract assignment offers a dynamic work environment supporting quality patient care in a busy hospital setting. The assignment is set to begin as soon as possible for 13 weeks.

Schedule:

• Four 10-hour shifts per week
• Rotating shifts, which could range from 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM, or 12:30 PM – 11:00 PM
• Every other weekend rotation

Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders accurately and efficiently while ensuring patient safety
• Supervise pharmacy technicians to maintain workflow and compliance
• Collaborate with physicians and nurses to optimize pharmacotherapy plans
• Conduct pharmacokinetic monitoring and dose adjustments as needed
• Utilize hospital information systems including EPIC and Pyxis for medication management and documentation

• Licensed pharmacist with clinical experience in a hospital setting
• Strong knowledge of inpatient pharmacy operations and protocols
• Experience with order verification and pharmacy technician supervision
