Clinical Pharmacist | Alexandria, Louisiana

A clinical pharmacist role is available in a community hospital setting with over 200 beds, located in Alexandria, LA. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your pharmacy expertise in a collaborative healthcare environment. The hospital utilizes EPIC and Pyxis technologies, supporting efficient medication management and patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders accurately and timely to ensure patient safety
• Supervise and support pharmacy technicians in daily operations
• Collaborate closely with physicians and nurses to provide pharmaceutical consultations and optimize therapy plans
• Perform pharmacokinetic monitoring and dosing adjustments as needed
• Participate in clinical pharmacy services to improve patient outcomes

Schedule:

• 4 shifts per week, each 10 hours long
• Rotating schedule including shifts from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, or 12:30 PM to 11:00 PM
• Every other weekend coverage required

Qualifications:

• Valid pharmacist license to practice
• Experience in a hospital setting preferred
• Proficiency with medication order entry systems such as EPIC and automated dispensing systems like Pyxis
• Strong clinical knowledge and ability to consult effectively with healthcare teams
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
