Qualifications:
- Licensed to practice pharmacy in California
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. from an accredited college
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Compliance with all federal, state, and local laws governing retail pharmacy services
- Commitment to ongoing professional education and license maintenance
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively across organizational levels
Responsibilities:
- Manage procurement, distribution, storage, and administration of pharmaceuticals
- Compound and dispense prescribed medications accurately
- Review prescriptions to ensure accuracy and appropriate formulation
- Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and interns, maintaining legal ratios
- Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, and drug interactions
- Ensure quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and proper hazardous waste disposal
- Maintain accurate pharmacy records and manage inventory and billing data
- Resolve third-party prescription rejections promptly
- Develop strong professional relationships with healthcare providers
- Uphold pharmacy policies and procedures for safety, compliance, and operational efficiency
- Engage in continuing education and training to stay current with industry standards
- Handle customer inquiries professionally and manage difficult situations effectively
