Qualifications:

  • Licensed to practice pharmacy in California
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. from an accredited college
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Compliance with all federal, state, and local laws governing retail pharmacy services
  • Commitment to ongoing professional education and license maintenance
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across organizational levels

Responsibilities:

  • Manage procurement, distribution, storage, and administration of pharmaceuticals
  • Compound and dispense prescribed medications accurately
  • Review prescriptions to ensure accuracy and appropriate formulation
  • Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and interns, maintaining legal ratios
  • Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, and drug interactions
  • Ensure quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and proper hazardous waste disposal
  • Maintain accurate pharmacy records and manage inventory and billing data
  • Resolve third-party prescription rejections promptly
  • Develop strong professional relationships with healthcare providers
  • Uphold pharmacy policies and procedures for safety, compliance, and operational efficiency
  • Engage in continuing education and training to stay current with industry standards
  • Handle customer inquiries professionally and manage difficult situations effectively
