A direct hire opportunity is available for a Clinical Pharmacist to join the Emergency Department team in Amarillo, TX. This role involves providing specialized pharmaceutical care in a fast-paced emergency room setting, ensuring optimal medication use and patient outcomes.

Responsibilities include collaborating with healthcare providers to develop and implement treatment plans, managing critically ill patients during resuscitations and trauma cases, and conducting medication reconciliations. The pharmacist will also prepare and dispense medications according to hospital protocols, participate in emergency response protocols such as stroke alerts and cardiac arrests, and educate both patients and staff on medication therapies and safety. Monitoring for adverse drug reactions, contributing to quality improvement initiatives, and serving as a preceptor for pharmacy students and residents are also key duties.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • B.S. or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy
  • Active pharmacist license in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy
  • Certification in BLS, ALS, and PALS within 90 days of hire
  • Preferred: Completion of PGY2 residency in emergency medicine or critical care, or PGY1 residency plus relevant emergency/critical care experience

Schedule:

  • 10-hour night shifts with rotating weekends
