A clinical pharmacist position is available to support outpatient oncology infusion services within a dynamic healthcare setting in the Los Angeles metro area. This opportunity involves working night shifts Monday through Friday from midnight to 9:00 AM, providing the critical role of verifying intravenous (IV) chemotherapy preparations and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The assignment is set to begin promptly and extend for at least 13 weeks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify and check chemotherapy and other IV medication preparations with strong attention to detail.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of USP 797 and USP 800 standards to maintain sterile compounding and safe handling of hazardous drugs.
  • Utilize EPIC electronic health record systems for order documentation and medication verification.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support optimal outpatient oncology infusion care.
  • Maintain patient safety and uphold institutional protocols specific to chemotherapy administration.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current pharmacist licensure with clinical experience in oncology pharmacy.
  • Demonstrated expertise in chemotherapy drug preparation and handling.
  • Comprehensive understanding of USP 797 and USP 800 guidelines.
  • Prior experience working night shifts in a clinical environment preferred.
  • Proficiency with EPIC or similar electronic health record systems.
  • Strong commitment to accuracy and patient safety in a fast-paced outpatient infusion setting.

  • Position based in the Anaheim, CA area with potential deployment across multiple sites in the Los Angeles metropolitan region.
