Clinical Pharmacist | Bellaire, Texas

A clinical pharmacist role is available for overnight shifts at a women’s pavilion site in Bellaire, TX. This contract position runs for 14 weeks, starting mid-May, with a schedule of 7 consecutive nights on followed by 7 nights off, from 7:30 PM to 7:30 AM. The role utilizes the EPIC electronic medical record system.

Responsibilities:

• Provide pharmaceutical care by managing the medication process to identify, prevent, and resolve drug-related problems for patients ranging from newborn to adult.
• Ensure all medication doses are appropriate considering patient diagnosis, weight/body surface area, allergies, and potential drug interactions.
• Enter medication orders accurately into the computer system to prevent medication incidents.
• Verify correctness of medications dispensed to patients and process orders within established guidelines.
• Adhere to aseptic technique and infection control standards in the preparation of sterile products; ensure technicians and pharmacists comply as well.
• Complete annual re-certification, achieving a minimum score of 90% on aseptic technique and infection control exams.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years inpatient pharmacy experience, with pediatric experience preferred.
• Valid Texas pharmacist license.
• Current ACPE IV Certification.
• Proficiency using EPIC EMR or similar systems.
• Strong commitment to patient safety and medication accuracy.
