Clinical Pharmacist - Bellaire, Texas

This role requires a dedicated Clinical Pharmacist to support the Pavilion for Women site in providing expert pharmaceutical care during overnight hours. Working a 7 on/7 off schedule from 7:30 PM to 7:30 AM, you will play a vital role in managing medication processes while ensuring patient safety and optimal therapeutic outcomes for a diverse patient population aged from newborn to adult.

Location: Bellaire, TX – Pavilion for Women Site

Schedule:

• Overnight shift, 7:30 PM to 7:30 AM
• 7 days on, 7 days off
• Contract position, starting 5/18 for 14 weeks

Responsibilities:

• Manage the medication process to promote pharmaceutical care, identifying and preventing potential drug-related issues.
• Verify appropriateness of medication doses considering diagnosis, weight, allergies, and possible drug interactions.
• Accurately enter and process medication orders using EPIC electronic medical records.
• Ensure that medication delivery and doses comply with established safety guidelines, reducing medication errors.
• Adhere to aseptic techniques and infection control standards in preparing sterile products, ensuring compliance through annual recertification.
• Collaborate with pharmacy team members to maintain a safe and effective medication environment.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Must hold a valid Texas Pharmacist license.
• ACPE IV Certification required.
• Minimum of 2+ years inpatient pharmacy experience, pediatric experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques and sterile product preparation.
• Ability to work overnight shifts with attention to detail and patient safety as a priority.
