Clinical Pharmacist in Bellaire, TX

A clinical pharmacist position is available for an overnight shift at a women’s pavilion site in Bellaire, TX, starting May 18 for a 14-week contract. This role involves working a 7-on/7-off schedule from 7:30 PM to 7:30 AM, providing pharmaceutical care to patients ranging from newborns to adults.

Responsibilities include managing the medication process to promote patient safety and effective treatment. Key duties are ensuring the appropriateness of medication doses based on diagnosis, weight, allergies, and potential drug interactions; accurately entering medication orders into EPIC electronic medical records; verifying correct medication dispensing; processing medication orders and doses within established guidelines; and maintaining strict adherence to aseptic technique and infection control protocols in sterile product preparation. Pharmacists will also encourage and monitor these standards among pharmacy technicians and peers, completing required annual re-certification with a high level of proficiency.

Desired Qualifications:

• Minimum 2+ years of inpatient pharmacy experience, with a preference for pediatric background
• Active Texas pharmacist license
• Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) IV certification
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR system
• Strong commitment to aseptic technique and infection control standards
