A permanent clinical pharmacist position is available in a dynamic hospital setting located in State College, PA. This role offers a unique chance to expand your clinical expertise by working across multiple units including the Emergency Department (ED), Critical Care Unit (CCU), and the antibiotic stewardship team. Unlike larger hospitals where pharmacists may be limited to a single unit, this role encourages diverse clinical involvement and professional growth.

Location:
State College, Pennsylvania — a scenic area known for its vibrant community and home to Penn State University. Relocation assistance may be provided to candidates relocating from other states.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enter and verify medication orders, review medication profiles for clinical appropriateness
  • Provide clinical pharmacy services tailored to patient needs in ED and ICU units
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and team discussions
  • Monitor drug therapies and conduct pharmacist-managed consults as per protocols
  • Engage in acute patient care situations such as cardiac arrest, stroke, sepsis, and trauma response

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (BS) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
  • Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) residency or a minimum of 3 years clinical pharmacy experience
  • Licensed pharmacist in Pennsylvania or ability to obtain PA licensure; out-of-state candidates encouraged to apply
  • Familiarity with Meditech or similar healthcare IT systems preferred

Schedule:

  • Primarily day shifts with some variable weekday and afternoon schedules
  • 8-hour shift duration
