A clinical pharmacist opportunity is available at a well-regarded medical center in a vibrant college town in Pennsylvania. This permanent role offers the chance to work across emergency department (ED) and intensive care unit (ICU) settings, along with participation on the antibiotic stewardship team. Unlike positions at larger hospitals where clinical pharmacists may be assigned to only one unit, this role provides varied experiences to enhance clinical skills across multiple patient care areas.
Location: State College, PA – a picturesque community home to a major university with relocation assistance available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate medication order entry and verification, review medication profiles for appropriateness, and deliver clinical services tailored to patient needs.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and participate in rounds as assigned.
- Monitor drug therapy and manage pharmacist-led consults according to protocols.
- Engage actively in acute patient scenarios including cardiac arrest, stroke, sepsis, and trauma within the ED and ICU settings.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD degree.
- Completion of PGY1 residency or a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a clinical pharmacy role.
- Current Pennsylvania pharmacist license or eligibility to obtain.
- Candidates without a Pennsylvania license are encouraged to apply.
Schedule:
- Primarily day shifts, variable days/afternoons.
- 8-hour shifts.
Additional Details:
- Experience with Meditech pharmacy system preferred.
- Salary range: $108,000 to $169,000 annually, with midpoint at $139,000.
- Support available for relocation on a case-by-case basis.
