Clinical Pharmacist in Boone, NC

An opportunity is available for a Clinical Pharmacist to support patient care within an inpatient setting. This 13-week contract role offers day and evening shifts, with no scheduled work past 9 pm, providing a balanced schedule for those seeking variety without late-night hours.

Schedule:

• Days/Evenings
• No shifts past 9 pm

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver exceptional customer service to healthcare team members both in person and over the phone.
• Verify medication orders, ensuring patient safety by checking for allergies, drug interactions, and appropriate therapy.
• Conduct medication reconciliations including home medications, and provide dosing consultations.
• Collaborate with physicians, residents, and other healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy.
• Verify IV admixtures, confirming accuracy and compliance with USP 797/800 standards.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active North Carolina pharmacist license in hand.
• Minimum of 1 year inpatient pharmacy experience.
• Proficient with EPIC electronic medical records system (required).
• Must reside more than 40 miles from Boone, NC.
