Clinical Pharmacist - Butler, Pennsylvania

A clinical pharmacist opportunity is available for a contract role supporting long-term care settings. This position requires a licensed pharmacist with experience in nursing home, personal care, and hospice pharmacy services. The assignment is expected to last one month with potential for extension.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review medication orders entered by data entry technicians for skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice patients.
• Verify accuracy of packaged medications including blister-packed, sterile, and non-sterile formulations.
• Respond to clinical inquiries from nursing staff, hospice nurses, and physicians.
• Perform controlled substance counts and maintain documentation in the perpetual inventory system.
• Inspect emergency medication boxes for compliance and readiness.
• Utilize pharmacy software including QS1, Docutrack, and PCC for daily operations.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy required.
• Current pharmacist license in Pennsylvania, in good standing.
• Minimum of 1 year pharmacist experience; background in long-term care preferred.
• Physical ability to sit or stand for extended periods, good fine motor skills and visual acuity.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.

Schedule:

• 40 hours per week.
• Pharmacy hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM; Saturday 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM; Sunday 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
