Clinical Pharmacist - Butler, Pennsylvania

This long-term care clinical pharmacist role offers the opportunity to contribute your expertise in serving skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice patients. Located in Butler, PA, this contract assignment is initially set for one month with the potential for extension, working 40 hours per week with a schedule that supports comprehensive pharmacy operations.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Saturday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Sunday: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders entered by data entry technicians for accuracy and compliance.
• Review blister-packaged medications, sterile, and non-sterile preparations to ensure quality.
• Respond to calls from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians, providing clinical guidance.
• Count controlled substances and maintain documentation in the perpetual inventory system.
• Inspect and verify emergency medication boxes regularly.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
• Current, active pharmacist license in the state of Pennsylvania, in good standing.
• Minimum of one year of pharmacist experience, with long-term care experience preferred.
• Physical ability to perform duties including sitting, standing, fine motor tasks, visual acuity, and lifting up to 30 pounds.
