A part-time Long Term Care Pharmacist position is available for a skilled professional to support pharmacy operations with approximately 24 hours per week. This per diem opportunity offers ongoing work with an initial one-month assignment and potential for extension.

Location:

  • Butler, PA

Schedule:

  • 24 hours per week
  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM (pharmacy hours)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify medication orders entered by data entry technicians for skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice patients.
  • Check blister-packed medications as well as sterile and non-sterile preparations for accuracy and safety.
  • Respond to phone inquiries from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians, providing clinical guidance as needed.
  • Conduct counts of controlled substances, maintaining accurate documentation in the perpetual inventory.
  • Monitor and verify emergency medication boxes to ensure readiness.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
  • Active pharmacist license in good standing with the state of Pennsylvania.
  • Minimum of 1 year of pharmacist experience; Long Term Care (LTC) experience preferred.
  • Physical ability to sit, stand, and perform tasks requiring fine motor skills and visual acuity.
  • Capable of lifting up to 30 pounds safely.

Technical Skills:

  • Experience using QS1, Docutrack, and PCC pharmacy operating systems preferred.
