Per Diem Clinical Pharmacist - Butler, PA

This position offers an opportunity for a skilled Clinical Pharmacist to support long-term care facilities on a per diem basis. The role focuses on providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care for skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice services, ensuring the accuracy, safety, and quality of medication dispensing and management.

Location:

• Butler, PA

Schedule:

• Part-time, 24 hours per week
• Pharmacy hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Assignment length: 1 month ongoing with possible extension

Responsibilities:

• Verify orders entered by data entry technicians for various care settings
• Check blister-packed medications, sterile and non-sterile preparations
• Respond to phone inquiries from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians, addressing clinical questions
• Count controlled substances and maintain documentation in the perpetual inventory system
• Inspect emergency medication boxes for accuracy and completeness
• Utilize pharmacy operating systems including QS1, Docutrack, and PCC

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy
• Valid pharmacist license in the state of Pennsylvania, in good standing
• Minimum of 1 year pharmacist experience; long-term care experience preferred
• Physical ability to perform duties including sitting, standing, fine motor skills, visual acuity, and lifting up to 30 pounds
