Exciting opportunity for skilled clinical pharmacists to join a leading pediatric medical center specializing in inpatient care. This direct hire position offers a dynamic work environment within a 359-bed, trauma level 1 teaching hospital known for its progressive and compassionate approach to pediatric healthcare.

Schedule:

  • 8-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compound and dispense prescribed medications according to physician instructions
  • Consult with medical staff regarding drug interactions, patient history, and medication use
  • Address patient questions about medication and dosage instructions
  • Ensure compliance with pharmacy data recording, regulatory standards, and hospital protocols
  • Verify medication doses based on patient’s diagnosis, weight, age, and body surface area
  • Identify and intervene in drug therapy problems such as allergies, interactions, and adverse reactions
  • Evaluate non-formulary medication needs and suggest cost-effective alternatives
  • Educate and train patients, pharmacy staff, and students; participate in discharge planning
  • Manage drug information requests and assist in drug utilization review activities
  • Coordinate medication orders, substitutions, inventory, and recalls efficiently

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

  • Arkansas pharmacy license (temp license available; candidates in licensing process encouraged to apply)
  • Minimum 2 years inpatient pharmacy experience preferred
  • IV experience or IV certification preferred
  • Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) designation preferred
  • New graduates welcome to apply
