A 359-bed pediatric trauma and teaching hospital in Arkansas is seeking experienced pharmacists for a 13-week night shift assignment, with potential for temp-to-hire status. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, team-driven environment within one of the largest pediatric medical providers in the country.
Schedule:
- 7 nights on/7 nights off
- 12-hour shifts, 7pm to 7am (Thursday through Wednesday)
- Scheduling flexibility may be accommodated
Location: Cabot, Arkansas
Key Responsibilities:
- Compound and dispense prescribed medications based on physicians’ instructions
- Consult with medical staff regarding drug interactions, patient histories, and medication usage
- Monitor patient responses and intervene in cases of allergies, drug interactions, or adverse reactions
- Verify dose appropriateness based on diagnosis, weight, age, and surface area
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy data recording, regulatory guidelines, and hospital procedures
- Participate in patient care activities and collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize therapy
- Educate patients, technicians, pharmacists, and students; participate in discharge planning
- Manage drug information requests and conduct drug utilization reviews
- Coordinate medication ordering and inventory processes efficiently
Qualifications:
- Active Arkansas pharmacist license preferred; candidates in the process of obtaining a temporary license will be considered
- Minimum 2 years inpatient pharmacy experience preferred
- IV experience or IV certification favored
- Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) certification is a plus
