A healthcare facility is seeking a skilled clinical pharmacist with recent inpatient experience to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical services at their hospital. This contract opportunity begins on June 1st and will last for 13 weeks, offering varied shifts that include days, with options of either five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts, including some weekends. The facility utilizes Cerner EMR.
Responsibilities include overseeing the procurement, distribution, and storage of medications, ensuring compliance with all State and Federal regulations, and maintaining efficient operation of all drug distribution systems within the hospital. You will serve as the Pharmacist in Charge, managing pharmacy licensure issues, maintaining policy and procedure manuals, and providing drug information to healthcare professionals. Emphasis is placed on accuracy and safety when reviewing inpatient medication orders, verifying patient home medications, and handling controlled substances securely. Additional duties include inventory maintenance, quality assurance, and providing weekend retail pharmacy coverage along with on-call pharmacist support during your shifts.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Must have inpatient pharmacy experience within the last 3 years
- Strong organizational and time-management skills

- Professional demeanor and positive relationships with patients and staff
- Knowledge of pharmacy law and regulatory compliance
- Experience with pharmacy inventory systems, preferably Omnicell
- Familiarity with quality assurance protocols and controlled substance security
- Capable of handling emergency medication dispensing and on-call responsibilities
