This opportunity offers a dynamic role as a clinical pharmacist specializing in oncology within an infusion pharmacy environment. Working Monday through Friday on day shifts, you will contribute meaningfully to patient-centered care by supporting the multidisciplinary oncology team, patients, and caregivers. Located in the Santa Barbara area, this contract position entails travel to Carpinteria, CA, providing a chance to work in a collaborative, patient-focused setting.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive cancer therapy education, toxicity monitoring, and supportive care management.
- Collaborate closely with oncology providers to contribute to treatment decisions and uphold safety protocols.
- Serve as a resource for evidence-based pharmacological treatments and facilitate clinical services access.
- Assess and select appropriate therapies, monitor and manage adverse drug reactions, and educate providers and patients.
- Prospectively review patient charts to identify and prevent medication-related issues.
- Evaluate treatment appropriateness and effectiveness based on current guidelines and primary literature.
- Customize treatment plans to optimize drug therapy for individual patients.
- Ensure medication safety and compliance with clinical protocols.
Qualifications:
- Valid California Pharmacist license.
- Experience in oncology pharmacy, preferably with familiarity in infusion pharmacy settings.
- Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary oncology team.
- Excellent communication and patient education abilities.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, day shifts.
