This opportunity offers a per diem Clinical Pharmacist role specializing in Home Infusion services, providing essential pharmaceutical support to patients outside the traditional hospital setting. The position requires a commitment during specific coverage periods with weekday hours, ideal for professionals seeking flexible scheduling within a clinical pharmacy environment.

Schedule:

  • 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday
  • Coverage periods: April 14–22, June 13–25, July 29–August 5

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify pharmaceutical products and drugs entering the clean room to ensure accuracy per batch records, focusing on sterile compounding.
  • Conduct final checks on compounded sterile preparations (CSP) for accuracy of label, fill amount, and drug use.
  • Review and verify shipments of medications and medical supplies before delivery to patients.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians' offices, field nurses, and patients regarding medication regimens, inventory levels, potential drug reactions, and abnormal lab results.
  • Proactively contact patients to coordinate medication deliveries, review compliance, and address concerns; report any issues to management.
  • Handle inbound communications from healthcare providers and patients, providing knowledgeable pharmaceutical support.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required; Doctor of Pharmacy or Master of Science in Pharmacy preferred.
  • Current pharmacist license in North Carolina.
  • Minimum two years of recent experience in acute-care settings or at least one year in home infusion therapy.
  • Strong expertise in intravenous admixture services and intravenous therapy.
  • Proficiency with CPR+ software is mandatory.
