An immediate opening for an Inpatient Pharmacist is available at a regional medical center in Chesapeake, VA. This 13-week contract position offers flexibility with evening or overnight shift options to fit your schedule.
Schedule Options:
- Evening shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
- Overnight shift: 8:30 PM – 7:30 AM Monday through Thursday
- Overnight weekend shift: 7:30 PM – 7:30 AM Friday through Sunday (7 nights on, 7 nights off)
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify and enter medication orders accurately
- Manage IV medications and pain-controlled analgesia
- Monitor antibiotic therapies and drug interactions
- Facilitate chemotherapy medication management (preferred)
- Perform pharmacokinetic and renal dosing adjustments (preferred)
- Collaborate with healthcare teams utilizing EPIC electronic medical records
Qualifications:
- Active Virginia pharmacist license in hand at time of application (non-negotiable)
- Minimum 1 year of inpatient pharmacy experience required; previous travel pharmacy experience preferred
- Strong experience with IV medications, pain control, antibiotics, and drug interaction vigilance is essential
- Proficiency with EPIC charting system required
