Clinical Pharmacist - Chesapeake, Virginia

Inpatient clinical pharmacist opportunity available in Chesapeake, VA for a 13-week contract starting Monday, April 20. Evening or overnight shifts offer flexibility to fit your schedule preferences. This role requires a VA pharmacy license at the time of application — this is non-negotiable.

Shift options:

• Evening: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
• Overnight: 8:30 PM – 7:30 AM Monday through Thursday, 7:30 PM – 7:30 AM Friday through Sunday (7 nights on, 7 nights off)

Key responsibilities include verifying medication orders, managing IV therapies, overseeing pain-controlled analgesia and antibiotics, and monitoring drug interactions. Order entry and accurate documentation are integral to this role. Familiarity with chemotherapy protocols, anticoagulants, pharmacokinetic and renal dosing is highly preferred to enhance patient care.

Candidate qualifications:

• Valid Virginia pharmacy license in hand at submission (mandatory)
• Minimum 1 year inpatient pharmacy experience
• EPIC electronic medical records charting experience (required)
• IV medication administration expertise
• Knowledge in pain control, antibiotic stewardship, and drug interaction management
• Previous travel pharmacy experience is a plus
• Preferred skills: chemotherapy handling, anticoagulant management, pharmacokinetic and renal dosing
