A Clinical Pharmacist with strong inpatient experience is needed for a 13-week contract in Chesapeake, VA at a regional medical center. This role focuses on providing comprehensive inpatient pharmaceutical care through precise medication management and collaboration with healthcare teams.

Location:

  • Chesapeake, VA

Schedule/Hours:

  • Rotating shifts
  • Start date: Tuesday, May 26

Responsibilities:

  • Verify medication orders and ensure accurate order entry
  • Manage IV medications, pain-controlled analgesia, and antibiotic therapies
  • Monitor for potential drug interactions
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals on patient care plans
  • Utilize EPIC for electronic medical records and charting
  • Support safe administration of chemotherapy (preferred)
  • Apply anticoagulant management, pharmacokinetic dosing, and renal dosing principles (preferred)

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year inpatient pharmacy experience required
  • Prior experience with IV medications, pain control, antibiotics, drug interactions, and order verification mandatory
  • Familiarity with chemotherapy protocols, anticoagulants, pharmacokinetic dosing, and renal dosing preferred
  • Experience working with EPIC electronic health records is required and non-negotiable
  • Travel pharmacy experience preferred but not mandatory
