Clinical Pharmacist in Chicora, PA

A contract opportunity is available for a Long Term Care Clinical Pharmacist based in Chicora, PA. This assignment is initially for one month with the potential for extension. The position requires a dedication of 40 hours per week, supporting pharmacy operations both during weekdays and weekends.

Schedule/Hours:

• Monday through Friday: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Saturday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Sunday: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and verify medication orders entered by data entry technicians for skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice care.
• Conduct thorough checks of packaged medications, including blister-packed, sterile, and non-sterile products.
• Respond to phone inquiries from nursing facility staff, hospice nurses, and physicians, providing clinical guidance.
• Perform controlled substance counts and maintain accurate perpetual inventory documentation.
• Inspect and verify emergency medication boxes to ensure compliance and readiness.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
• Active pharmacist license in Pennsylvania, with a clean professional record.
• Minimum of one year pharmacist experience; previous Long Term Care (LTC) experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to perform duties requiring sitting, standing, good fine motor skills, and visual acuity.
• Capable of lifting up to 30 pounds.

Technical Proficiency:

• Familiarity with pharmacy operating systems QS1, Docutrack, and PCC.
