This full-time infusion pharmacist position offers an opportunity to provide specialized clinical pharmacy services focused on chronic and acute infusion therapies in a collaborative, patient-centered environment. The role emphasizes comprehensive patient care and efficient pharmacy production through a team-oriented approach, working closely with various departments to optimize clinical outcomes.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
- On-call every third weekend
Key Responsibilities:
- Compound, dispense, and clinically monitor infusion therapies prescribed by authorized medical personnel
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations governing pharmacy practice
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff, maintaining adherence to regulatory standards
- Coordinate pharmacy services in collaboration with nursing, admissions, reimbursement, sales, and marketing teams
- Participate actively in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement programs
- Orient and train new pharmacy staff; possibly act as a preceptor for pharmacy interns
- Serve as a clinical resource for Sales and Marketing; support clinical reviews and presentations as needed
- Manage procurement and inventory control procedures in compliance with company policies
- Support insurance authorization processes and reimbursement documentation requirements
- Participate in pharmacy on-call rotation to provide continuous support services
- Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure compliance with state and federal reporting mandates
- Demonstrate proficiency with USP 797 and USP 800 standards, as well as current State Board of Pharmacy regulations
Desired Experience:
- Previous experience in an infusion setting is highly preferred
- Candidates with specialty pharmacy experience will also be considered
- Familiarity with clinical pharmacy systems such as CPR+ and CareTend is advantageous
