A Part-Time Long Term Care Pharmacist position is available, requiring 24 hours per week with a schedule Monday through Friday, between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM. The assignment is expected to last at least one month, with potential for extension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and verify orders entered by data entry technicians for skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice care.
- Inspect packaged medications, including blister-packed, sterile, and non-sterile medications.
- Respond to phone inquiries from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians, addressing clinical questions.
- Perform controlled substances counts and document them in the perpetual inventory.
- Check emergency medication boxes to ensure readiness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
- Current and valid pharmacist license in Pennsylvania, in good standing.
- Minimum of one year of pharmacy experience; experience in Long Term Care (LTC) preferred.
- Physical ability to sit, stand, perform fine motor tasks, exhibit visual acuity, and lift up to 30 pounds.
Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with pharmacy operating systems including QS1, Docutrack, and PCC.
