This long-term care pharmacist role offers the opportunity to contribute clinical expertise in a dynamic pharmacy setting supporting skilled nursing facilities, personal care homes, and hospice care. Based in Cranberry Township, PA, this contract assignment runs for one month with possible extension, providing a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- Saturday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- Sunday, 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and verify medication orders entered by data entry technicians for various long-term care settings.
- Inspect packaged medications, including blister packs, as well as sterile and non-sterile preparations to ensure accuracy and safety.
- Respond to incoming calls from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians, providing answers to clinical questions.
- Accurately count and document controlled substances in the perpetual inventory.
- Inspect emergency medication boxes to maintain readiness.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
- Current licensure as a registered pharmacist in the state of Pennsylvania, in good standing.
- Minimum of one year pharmacy experience; long-term care experience preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including sitting, standing, fine motor skills, visual acuity, and lifting up to 30 pounds.
- Proficiency with QS1, Docutrack, and PCC operating systems is essential.
