A demanding role is available for an Oncology Inpatient Pharmacist at a large, busy 500+ bed hospital within a premier Texas Medical Center facility. This position offers a contract opportunity with a 13+ week assignment, with potential for temp-to-hire. The work schedule consists of day shifts, supporting a dynamic clinical pharmacy team focused on oncology patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the patient care team during rounds to provide expert medication recommendations
- Develop and maintain oncology treatment protocols within Epic and Epic Beacon systems
- Assist in the seamless transition of care by coordinating with outpatient oncology pharmacists
- Manage non-formulary requests and coordinate specialty medication procurement for oncology patients
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Texas Pharmacist license in good standing
- Texas IV certification required
- Minimum of 3 years inpatient pharmacy experience, with emphasis on oncology preferred
- Familiarity with Epic electronic medical records and Beacon chemotherapy management system strongly preferred
- Strong clinical knowledge and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital setting
