Clinical Pharmacist in Deville, LA

A rewarding opportunity is available for an experienced Clinical Pharmacist to support a 200+ bed community hospital in Alexandria, LA. This contract position requires a skilled pharmacist to contribute to high-quality patient care in a dynamic hospital setting.

Location:

• Alexandria, LA

Schedule:

• Four 10-hour shifts per week
• Rotating schedule including early mornings, days, and evenings (6AM-4:30PM, 7AM-5:30PM, or 12:30PM-11PM)
• Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform order verification to ensure accuracy and safety
• Supervise pharmacy technicians to maintain workflow efficiency
• Consult with physicians and nursing staff regarding medication therapy and patient care
• Apply pharmacokinetic principles to optimize medication dosing
• Utilize EPIC electronic medical records and Pyxis medication dispensing systems effectively

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Current pharmacist licensure appropriate for practice in Louisiana
• Strong clinical and hospital pharmacy experience
• Proficiency with EPIC and Pyxis systems preferred
• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)

This is a 13-week contract position with an immediate start date. The role requires careful attention to detail and an ability to adapt to a rotating schedule to provide comprehensive pharmacy services.
